Washington, DC (PRWEB) August 20, 2013
The ribbon was cut for the new Dunbar High School in Washington, DC yesterday, unveiling the state-of-the-art $122 million facility located next to the previous 1970s-era building. EarthCam’s construction camera technology was onsite since December 2011 to document the progress in high definition megapixel imagery.
The new 280,000 square foot Dunbar High School leads the way in integrating technology into an educational setting, both inside and out, utilizing solar panels for a source of “green” power to digital projectors and interactive whiteboards in classrooms to enhance the learning experience. EarthCam’s construction camera technology was right at home on this jobsite, documenting progress for the new building that will welcome 1,100 students this school year. Project teams from Gilbane and Smoot Construction shared views of the progress on a public web page, inviting the community, students and alumni to watch Dunbar’s transformation.
